Caley was founded in Edinburgh by golfers who were tired of paying for tour contracts. The sets are designed here and sold direct. Custom builds are made by hand by Stephen, our master club builder, in a workshop just outside North Berwick on East Lothian's golf coast. Decades in the trade, and an eye for every detail most people would miss.

Why Caley exists

I spent years watching golfers put the price tag back.

Before Caley, I worked behind a pro shop counter.

Most Saturdays the same thing happened. A golfer would pick up a new set of irons, turn the price tag over and put it back on the rack. Not because he didn't want them. Because £1,379 is a lot to spend on a set his old one was only a bit worse than.

He was right to put it back. Break that price down and most of it never reaches the golf club. It goes to tour contracts, the retailer and the marketing budget.

Plenty of them had already tried the other fixes. A new driver, a lesson, a training aid. None of it touched the irons they hit most.

So we started Caley in Edinburgh to sell the golf club and leave the rest out. Same hollow-body construction, same KBS shafts, same Lamkin grips. £549.

We are confident enough in the 01 to let you test it the only way that counts, which is on a golf course, in real weather, for two months.

Which set to pick, why the price is what it is, fitting, delivery and returns.

Which set should I get, the 01 or the 01T?

If you play off 15 or more, the 01. It's the more forgiving of the two and it launches higher. If you play off single figures or low teens and you want a shorter blade and a thinner topline, the 01T. Both are £549, so we've no reason to steer you either way.

Why are they so much cheaper?

No tour contracts, no retailer, no distributor. See the breakdown above. It's the only reason.

Will new irons actually lower my handicap?

Nobody can honestly promise that, and we won't. What a bigger sweet spot does is keep the ones you don't strike well in play, so fewer holes get away from you. The only way to know if it shows up on your card is to play them, which is what the sixty days are for.

Do I need to get fitted first?

Not for these. The £549 set is a stock build. You choose your shaft, we ship it, and you get sixty days on an actual golf course to decide. No booking a fitting bay and no being sized up. Nobody's approval needed but yours.

How long will they take to arrive?

Stock sets are dispatched same day if you order before midday, Monday to Friday, and UK mainland delivery takes up to two working days. Custom builds are made to order and take longer.

What if they are not for me?
